Gauge mediation in supergravity and gravitino dark matter
Gravitinos and hidden sector fields often cause a cosmological disaster in
supersymmetric models. We find that a model with gravitational gauge mediation
solves such a problem quite naturally. The mu-problem is also absent in the
model. Moreover, the abundance of gravitinos explains correct amount of dark
matter of the universe. The dark matter abundance can be calculated without
detailed information on the thermal history of the universe such as the
reheating temperature after inflation.Comment: 22 pages, 2 figures, a reference added, version to appear in PR
Sweet Spot Supersymmetry and Composite Messengers
Sweet spot supersymmetry is a phenomenologically and cosmologically perfect
framework to realize a supersymmetric world at short distance. We discuss a
class of dynamical models of supersymmetry breaking and its mediation whose
low-energy effective description falls into this framework. Hadron fields in
the dynamical models play a role of the messengers of the supersymmetry
breaking. As is always true in the models of the sweet spot supersymmetry, the
messenger scale is predicted to be 10^5 GeV < M_mess < 10^{10} GeV. Various
values of the effective number of messenger fields N_mess are possible
depending on the choice of the gauge group.Comment: 12 page
Minimal Direct Gauge Mediation
We propose a simple model of gauge mediation where supersymmetry is broken by
a strong dynamics at O(100)TeV.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur
Selective Synthesis of C4-Functionalized Benzofurans by Rhodium-Catalyzed Vinylene Transfer: Computational Study on the Cyclopentadienyl Ligand
Benzofuran is a privileged structure in many bioactive compounds; however, the controlled synthesis of C2,C3-non-substituted benzofurans has been scares. In particular, cumbersome multistep processes are inevitable for the most inaccessible C4-substituted isomers. Herein, we report a Rh-catalyzed direct vinylene annulation of readily available m-salicylic acid derivatives with vinylene carbonate to achieve selective construction of C4-substituted benzofurans. The Weinreb amide directing group facilitated the following product derivatization. The reaction mechanism was investigated by DFT calculations.Kitano J., Nishii Y., Miura M..
